Drain Jetting Bolton Point

Drain jetting in Bolton Point sends water down the line at high pressure, stripping grease, silt and root fibre off the pipe wall and washing it away. The hose works the whole run, and the fixed figure is named before it goes in. The plumber in Bolton Point jets sewer and stormwater lines alike.

Why jet instead of using an eel?

An electric eel bores a hole through the blockage. Water moves again, but the grease and fibre stay coating the wall.

The jetter works differently, and the difference decides how long the clear lasts:

It scrubs the whole circumference

Grease and slime come off the pipe wall, not just the middle of the line, so paper has nothing left to cling to.

It flushes as it cuts

Silt, sand and root fibre wash forward and out, rather than being pushed deeper into the run.

It reaches the far end

The hose travels to the end of the drain, where a cable can lose the fight partway along.

It runs forward and back

Jets at the head pull the hose into the line while rear-facing nozzles clean behind it.

Cables still earn their place on some jobs. A solid root mat that has closed the pipe may need cutting first, and cutting is what tree root removal handles.

How is a jetting job priced?

The figure moves with the job, and you see the drivers named before work starts:

  • What the line is made of Clay sewers with shifted joints call for gentler pressure and a slower pass than a sound PVC run.
  • What the blockage is Kitchen grease lifts in one pass; root fibre packed into a junction takes several.
  • Where the access sits Working from a yard clean-out is quicker than reaching a pipe from under the floor.
  • Whether filming is wanted A camera run before and after adds time, and CCTV drain inspection explains what that footage tells you.

How Jetting Works On Bolton Point Ground

Clay runs under the first cottages

The waterfront streets date from the 1915 subdivision, and the sewers beneath them are clay pipe laid while those blocks filled in over the mid-1900s. Soil that swells and shrinks over shale has knocked their joints out of line, and silt banks up behind each step. The jetter lifts that silt and moves it on at a pressure the old clay can take.

The 1980s estate blocks differently

The commission closes off Quigley Road were planted with street trees as young as the houses, and forty years on, fine root fibre has worked into the junctions the builders left. Jetting strips that fibre off the wall and carries it out, where cutting alone leaves the hair roots in place to regrow.

Low blocks fight the lake as well as the blockage

Near the shore the ground water rises and drops with the lake level, and a cleared line there still drains slowly while the water sits high. We plan those jobs around that, and the camera run after shows you which it is.

When We're Not The Right Call

A collapsed section of sewer will jet clean and block again within weeks, because water cannot mend a pipe that has parted. That calls for a dig or a pipe relining job instead. Jetting also stops at your side of the sewer connection: Hunter Water looks after its own main.

Jetting Questions, Answered

Does high-pressure jetting damage old clay pipes in Bolton Point?

No. The pressure is set by what the camera shows, and the clay under the old cottage streets gets a gentler setting. Root fibre gets more pressure, a fragile wall gets less, and the footage tells us which line we are on before the hose goes in.

Will you jet the stormwater line or just the sewer?

Both. Runoff coming off the ridge leaves silt sitting in the downhill pits, and the same jetter clears a stormwater line as readily as a sewer. The quote names which lines are being done before any water goes through them.

Is a camera check part of a jetting job here?

It is. We film the blockage before jetting and film the line again after, so you can see it holding. If the second run shows a collapsed section, the footage tells us the clear was only ever half the fix.

Do you use chemicals as well as the jet?

No. Jetting is water only, and nothing caustic gets flushed toward the lake that wraps this suburb. Pressure and volume do the work the chemicals only promise.
